Gazprom Gazoraspredelenie Kaluga AO was established in 1993 as Kalugaoblgas OAO with the aim of forming a unified system of control of gas complex of the Kaluga region, the coordination of production activities related to the operation of gas distribution networks and gas supply in the region. At present the company is the largest gas distribution organization in the Kaluga region, whose main task is to ensure smooth and trouble-free supply of consumer, industrial, and municipal enterprises. The structure of the organization consists of six branches providing natural gas to more than 247,503 apartments and more than 232 industrial enterprises and 1754 consumers in the household sector. The total length of gas distribution networks is 6324.9 km with a volume of gas transported approximately 1.2 billion cubic meters a year. The system of the company includes about 1360 gas control points, 545 units of electrochemical protection.
