Doka Drevo, s.r.o. is a company located in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. It is a 100% subsidiary of an internationally recognized Austrian conglomerate that has been supplying formwork systems to construction companies worldwide for over 40 years. The company specializes in the production of three-layer formwork panels. In the 1950s, the parent company, Umdasch, which was then a small wood processing company, supplied a large quantity of formwork panels to Donaukraftwerke AG for the construction of the Ybbs/Persenbeug power plant in Austria. The term "DOKW-panels" soon became popular within the company, which later evolved into "DOKA-panels". This name is now internationally recognized and protected by a registered trademark. Doka Drevo, s.r.o. was established as a joint venture on November 29, 1994, under the name Doka Smrečina, s.r.o. It was a collaboration between two wood processing companies, DOKA GmbH in Austria and SMREČINA, a.s. in Banska Bystrica. In April 1997, DOKA GmbH acquired full ownership from SMREČINA, a.s., making Doka Banská Bystrica a 100% subsidiary of DOKA GmbH. The company was then renamed Doka Drevo, s.r.o. Doka Drevo, s.r.o. is a subsidiary of DOKA GmbH, which is part of the UMDASCH group based in Amstetten, Austria. DOKA GmbH's main business is formwork technology for the construction industry, accounting for approximately 75% of the company's activities, while the other part is Umdasch-Shop-Concept, focusing on interior design for shops and commercial activities. Doka Drevo, s.r.o. is a manufacturing company that primarily exports its large-scale three-layer formwork panels of various types and designations. Nearly 99% of DDS's formwork panel production is exported, with the remaining production serving the domestic market.
