SMS a.s. is a company located in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. It was founded in the spring of 1997 as one of the two subsidiaries of the former company Stavby mostů Praha, a.s. The company's initial goal was to construct bridges in Slovakia. Over the years, SMS a.s. has successfully completed numerous projects, including the first and only PPP project R1 Nitra - Tekovské Nemce and Banská Bystrica - Severný obchvat. They have also built dozens of bridges, including notable projects such as the bridge over the Danube in Komárno - Komárom and bridges on the D1 highway. In addition to bridge construction, SMS a.s. has also been involved in the renovation and repair of historical monuments, such as the Budatín Castle complex and the Historical Hall of the East Slovak Gallery in Košice. The company is also engaged in the construction of flood protection systems, sewage systems, and wastewater treatment plants. SMS a.s. aims to strengthen its position in the Slovak construction market, particularly in the field of bridge construction, and to secure significant contracts. In 2021, they were involved in the construction of nearly twenty bridges in Slovakia.
