Stredoslovensky Ustav Srdcovych a Cievnych Chorob, a.s. is located in Banska Bystrica. The company underwent reconstruction and expansion of a former surgical pavilion in the old hospital area in 2006. Over the course of 2.5 years, the pavilion underwent significant changes in its exterior and interior appearance. One notable addition to the building is a heliport on the roof, designed for the rapid and urgent reception of patients from distant locations. The reconstruction was completed in 2009. In June 2020, the Diagnostic Center was also completed. Currently, the institute has 126 beds, 3 cardiac surgery operating rooms, and 6 intervention rooms. It is equipped with modern facilities for non-invasive diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases, including CT scans.
