Military Forests and Estates of the Slovak Republic was formed in 1993 after the splitting of Czechoslovakia. Its seat is located in Pliesovce. The purpose of the enterprise from its formation was to manage effectively and ecologically the forest and agricultural land within the military training area of the Military Forces of SR. The enterprise manages an area of 72 800 hectares with annual extraction volume of approx. 300 000 m³. It comprises four branch enterprises: Malacky, Pliesovce, Kezmarok and Kamenica nad Cirochou.
