Kipas Kagit Sanayi Isletmeleri Anonim Sirketi, located in Kahramanmaras, was founded in 1984 by the ÖKSÜZ and GÜMÜŞER families. It is the first and only holding company in Kahramanmaras. The company operates in six main sectors, including textiles, cement, paper, energy, education, and logistics. Kipas Holding has 11,000 employees and is known as the top taxpayer in Kahramanmaras. It is also among the top 100 exporting companies in Turkey, with approximately $200 million in exports to nearly 100 countries. Kipas Holding is listed in the ISO 500 with its six subsidiaries. The company places great importance on research and development and is ranked among the top 250 companies in this field. Kipas Tekstil, a subsidiary of Kipas Holding, is the largest integrated textile production company in Turkey and Europe. It has an annual production capacity of 80 million meters of fabric and 330 tons of yarn per day. Kipas Tekstil's facilities are located in Kahramanmaras and it employs approximately 5,500 people. The company produces woven, open-end, and ring yarn, as well as fabric dyeing-finishing and denim fabric production. Kipas Tekstil has recently gained attention with its technical textiles and research and development activities. During the pandemic, it also produced washable, reusable masks that reduce the risk of transmission. Kipas Tekstil has also made a name for itself in the fashion world with its creations made from recycled PET bottles and its partnership with Boyner. In 2010, Kipas Holding acquired the retail, marketing, and production rights of Lee Cooper, Europe's oldest denim brand, which was born in East London in 1908. Kipas Cimento, another subsidiary of Kipas Holding, has a cement production factory with an annual capacity of 3.2 million tons of clinker and 4 million tons of cement. It also operates 15 concrete plants with a total capacity of 33,000 m³/day in 7 provinces, 2 aggregate quarries in Kahramanmaras, a 450,000 m³ capacity Gazbeton plant in Kahramanmaras, and a 700,000 m³ capacity Gazbeton plant in Aydin/Söke. Kipas Cimento employs approximately 1,000 people and produces CEM I, CEM III, and CEM IV type cements in accordance with Turkish (TS), European (EN), and American (ASTM) standards. Kipas Kagıt, another subsidiary of Kipas Holding, produces 425,000 tons of paper annually from 100% recycled waste paper. This prevents the destruction of 6,000 hectares of forest area and adds value to the economy. Kipas Kagıt's facilities cover an area of 330,000 m², including 100,000 m² of closed area, in Kahramanmaras. The company produces Testliner and Fluting paper with a grammage range of 70-200 gr/m². In addition to its existing investment in Bilecik Bozüyük, Kipas Kagıt will have the largest paper production facility in Aydin/Söke, which will start operating in late 2020. Kipas Holding is also known for its energy investments. It operates 10 geothermal power plants in Aydin Germencik, Maren, KCS Aydin Branch, and Kiper, as well as hydroelectric power plants in Konya Balkusan Dam, with a total annual energy production of approximately 1,600 GWh. These investments support Turkey's energy needs and employ approximately 400 people. Kipas Holding also operates educational institutions in Kahramanmaras, providing education from kindergarten to high school without profit. These institutions aim to provide high-quality education with scholarship opportunities to successful students in Kahramanmaras. The campus covers an area of 32,000 m², with 23,000 m² of closed area, and includes a kindergarten with a capacity of 75 students, an elementary school with a capacity of 750 students, a middle school with a capacity of 960 students, and a high school with a capacity of 1,008 students. Kipas Holding's subsidiary, Kipas Havacilik ve Lojistik, provides logistics services for both domestic and international commercial aircraft leasing with a Cessna Citation XLS+ aircraft and transportation with 40 trailers. It offers seamless transportation services to its customers 24/7. Kipas Holding is also involved in various social projects, including the donation of educational institutions and healthcare facilities in Kahramanmaras and surrounding areas.
