Turkiye Elektrik Dagitim Anonim Sirketi, located in Ankara, is a company that was established in accordance with Law No. 1312 in 1970 with the aim of eliminating the fragmented structure in the electricity sector and ensuring operational integrity. The company was restructured under the names of Turkiye Elektrik Uretim-Iletim A.S. (TEAS) and Turkiye Elektrik Dagitim A.S. (TEDAS) in 1993, in line with privatization policies. TEDAS was included in the privatization scope and program with the decision of the Privatization High Council on April 2, 2004. The company is responsible for the distribution of electricity in Turkey's 21 distribution regions. TEDAS also plays a role in the payment and auditing of general lighting expenses in accordance with the regulations set by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
