Yeni Gimat Gayrimenkul Yatırım Ortaklığı Anonim Şirketi, located in Ankara, was established on January 14, 1993, as "Yeni Gimat Sitesi Toplu İşyeri Yapı Kooperatifi". In 1995, they purchased the Ankara Meat Combine land, measuring 100,725 square meters, from the Privatization Administration for approximately 30 million USD. In 1998, the cooperative was converted into a business cooperative and renamed S.S. Yeni Gimat İşyerleri ve Alışveriş Merkezleri İşletme Kooperatifi. On July 30, 1999, it became a joint-stock company named Yeni Gimat İşyerleri İşletmesi A.Ş. with 1,050 founding partners. The company's shares were publicly offered and listed on the Capital Markets Board on September 14, 1999. They constructed a shopping center on the land, with 30.26% owned by Migros Türk T.A.Ş. and 69.74% owned by the company. The shopping center opened in August 1999. In June 2004, construction began on the second phase of the shopping center, which was completed in May 2006 and merged with Migros AVM to become ANKAmall, Turkey's largest shopping center. In May 2008, the company's hotel, Crowne Plaza Oteli, with 263 rooms and 575 beds, opened. On March 14, 2013, the company received permission from the Capital Markets Board to convert into a real estate investment trust (REIT) and completed the transformation as Yeni Gimat Gayrimenkul Yatırım Ortaklığı A.Ş. Their shares began trading on Borsa Istanbul with the code YGGYO on August 16, 2013.
