Alcor Micro Corp. was established in 1988, went public in 1989 and went listed in PTC market in 1993. In September q996, it absorbed private partners to cut into card reader and small memory card to control IC peripheral application market, its private partners targeting at Yasukuni Asus holding about 3% stake, keyboard manufacturer Chicony, and Transcend already holding 4.6% re-coding. In the same month it merged with analog IC designer Taishi Technology to start a new digital camera product - a highly integrated zero-IF digital television broadcast silicon tuner. The main products include USB interface storage control IC (81%), USB interface-bridge control IC (8%), USB interface input and output control IC (6%), and others (5%) including USB-interface hard disk, CD-ROM drive control IC and network security protection control IC.
