Chairman & CEO George T.W. Chen established Capital Securities Corp. in 1988, with the aim of adding timely, in-depth investment research to the array of services already provided by The Capital Group. Capital Securities provides a wide range of brokerage services. In addition to the brokerage services on the TAIEX and TAISDAQ listed stocks, Capital Securities also adds margin trading, TAIEX futures trading and foreign stock brokerage services to its array of services. Aiming to expand its presence over the recent years, Capital Securities merged with Hai Shan Securities, Kao Sheng Securities, Shih Shin Securities, and acquired Befon Securities in 2000; acquired Yang-Fa Securities and Ruey Fong Securities in 2001; acquired Algear Securities, Kingston Securities, Bao-Hung Securities in 2002; acquired First-Team Securities, Cheng Tai Securities in 2004; and acquired Da Shing Securities in 2005. This propelled the company to command a TSE and OTC market share of 4.44% in the first half 2006, and placed the company in 4th spot among all securities dealers nationwide in date. Capital Securities has long been the leader of both primary and secondary market debt offerings in the industry. In 2000, Capital Securities led TSMC's NT$15 billions unsecured corporate bond offering, which was a record-high for Taiwan bond market.
