Chung Hwa Pulp Corp. was established on July 5, 1968, principally engaged in the production and distribution of paper and paper pulp. As the largest pulp producer, its market share reaches 40%. The fine paper production ranks the second largest in Taiwan. Its annual production capacity of pulp amounts to 250,000 tonnes, 32% for own use, 68% for sale and about 85% sold in Taiwan. The major client is Yuen Foong Yu, accounting for 80% of domestic revenue. Fine paper is divided into wood-free printing and writing paper (or Dowling paper) and micro-coated paper with annual production capacity of about 100,000 tons and 20,000 tons respectively. 80% of Dowling paper is sold in the domestic market and all the micro-coated paper is domestically sold. In 2000 the company invested in Dingfeng Paper Company in Guangdong, China and expected its production capacity to reach 110,000 tons. At the same year the company acquired Dingfeng Paper Company, and since it was formally put into production in January 2001, the company implemented technical innovation in phases and improved the production capacity from 45,000 tonnes to 102,000 tonnes. In April 2006, it invested Zhaoqing Feng Forestry Co., Ltd. in Guangdong Province, specializing in the cultivation and sale of seedlings, planting, logging and sales of timber and other services. After 2010, the production capacity in the mainland would improve from 110,000 tons to 31 tons, greatly reducing costs and stabilizing supply of raw materials in the long term. On November 15, 2000 the company was granted ISO 14001 International Environmental Management System Certification and on March 20, 2002 granted ISO 9001 (2000) International Management System Certification.
