The company was established in August 1952 as G.T.M. Textile Co., Ltd. and renamed GTM Corporation in 1987.The company was listed in November 1988. In 2000 the company set up electronics division. Currently GTM Corporation is principally engaged in the provision of micro semiconductor component packaging and testing services. Its major packaging types include transistor outline (TO), small outline (SO), system in a package (SIP), dual in-line packaging (DIP) and plastic leaded (PL), while its testing services include wafer testing and finished product testing. The company mainly provides small signal transistors, power transistors, diodes, metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs), battery protective integrated circuits (ICs) and photo link ICs, among others. The company is also involved in the manufacture, processing and trade of textile products, such as serape, woven fabrics and woolen quilts. During 2010, the company obtained approximately 84% and 10% of its total revenue from the electronics services and property leasing, respectively.
