Hong Tai Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. was founded in 1968 with the capital NT$ 2 million. Initially the company manufactured electrical wire and cable, and had been seeking for better improvements during the course of progress. In 1979 and 1988 Hong Tai was evaluated as a class A manufacturer by Industrial Development Bureau. In 1989 its fire-resistant cable was approved by Bureau of Commodity Inspection & Quarantine. In 1993 Hong Tai was listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. The certification of ISO 9000 was granted to Nan-Kang plant in 1994 and Kuan-Yin plant in 1995. The certification of ISO 14001 was granted to both two plants in 1998. Its main products include Electric Power Cable, Communication Cable, Photovoltaic Products, Electronic Material and Engineering. There are five divisions in Hong Tai: electric power cable division, communication cable division, electronic material division, engineering division and investment division. To improve the efficiency and performance of the management, Hong Tai operates as the profit center for each division, as well as strengthens its marketing channels. Through the development of national economy, Hong Tai has kept consistent pace with the progress of modernization and to pursue innovations in the realm of high technology.
