Soft-World International Corporation (Taiwan, China)

Established in July 1983 with capital NT$ 5 million and listed publicly in March 2001, Soft-World International Corp. is a major games distributor/developer in Taiwan and mainland China, based in Taipei, Taiwan. The company is mainly engaged in the development and distribution of game software and the publication of game magazines. The company is also involved in the agency distribution of computer game software, the development and the agency distribution of on-line games, as well as the development and sale of peripherals. In 1986 the company signed an agency agreement with SSI to be licensed to reproduce the Chinese version of the products. In 1987 it signed agency agreements with nearly ten computer games producers including EA, ACTIVISION, ACCESS, LUCAS-ART, ACCOLADE, etc. to o reproduce the Chinese version of the products. In 1989 the company set up R & D Department for Self-made Games and since 1997 it started to become the agent of domestic producers and sell their self-made game products. In 1998 the number of domestic producers it acted for reached 24 and it became the largest agent of domestic game products in Taiwan. In the same year it cooperated with Japan’s largest TV games producer Sony and researched the method to transfer PC games to SONYPS platform, thus became Sony’s partner in Taiwan. To follow the trend of applying internet to games, in 2000 the company founded its subsidiary Chinese Gamer International Corp. to develop online games business. In October the company cooperated with Hong Kong Jade Dynasty Group Ltd. and started to set up the audio comic website. In 2002 its subsidiary Game Flier International Corp. won the agency right in South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong. In 2000 Chinese Gamer International Corp. was officially listed in Emerging Stock Market. In 2005 the company established Game First International Corp. as its subsidiary which acted for the most popular MMORPG games in the world and its representative business is World of Warcraft. In 2008 Zealot Digital International Corp. was established to research and develop the first MMORPG game cross X-BOX and PC Platform in the world.
