Tainan Spinning Co., Ltd. was established on March 21, 1955 with capital NT$ 7.5 million. On October 3, 1989 the company was listed in the stock market with capital NT$ 4.5 billion. Since establishment Tainan has acquired the certification of ISO 9000 Quality Management System and ISO 14000 Environmental Management System.The company is mainly engaged in the production, processing and sale of textiles. The main products include polyester cotton, polyester silk, yarns, polyester granules and textured yarns. Its products are used in various applications, including jeans, leisure garments, house decoration, and in various fabrics, as well as in industrial applications. The company is also involved in the leasing of buildings. The company distributes its products in the domestic markets and to overseas markets, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, South Africa, Brazil, India, Vietnam, Mexico, Russia and Europe. During the year ended December 31, 2010, the company obtained approximately 34.55%, 25.26%, 18.99% and 13.97% of its total revenue from polyester cotton, yarns, polyester silk and polyester granules, respectively. Tainan Spinning Co. Ltd. invested NT$ 152.5 million ($5 million) to set up a garment production plant in China's Henan Province. The new Henan plant, which will occupy 23,000 square meters, is scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of 2011 with an initial monthly production of 160,000 units. The monthly production capacity of the new facilities is expected to expand to 300,000 units by 2012. The Henan production base will target the huge Chinese domestic market, as well as exporting to Japan.
