TSMC was founded in 1979. Her main products are Styrene Monomer, Para-Diethyl Benzene, toluene, and Ethyl Benzene.The main clients of TSMC are the manufacturers of Polystyrene , ABS resins and Synthetic rubber , of which the products are widely applied in industries of: electric appliances, machines, electronics, automobiles and packaging etc. Inspired by the Government policy of development in capital and technology intensive industry in 1979, Taiwan Styrene Monomer Corporation was founded and begun construction on its first Styrene Monomer Plant. The first production line was completed in May, 1982 with an annual capacity of styrene monomer of one hundred thousand tons; which exceptionally reach one hundred forty thousand tons capacity in 1985. TSMC IPO in 1986 to reinforce the expansion of the company and to meet the rapid demand growing of styrene in Taiwan market. Through the prosperous demand of styrene, the second one hundred thousand tons production line started construction in 1987 and was completed in 1990; achieving accumulated capacity of two hundred forty thousand tons. Benefit from continuously improvement of operation techniques, the two hundred sixty thousand tons record was surpassed in 1997. To complement the growing domestic demand, TSMC launched De-bottleneck Project in 1995 and achieved annual capacity of three hundred forty thousand tons. While TSMC relentlessly pursuing higher products quality, we are also continuously making all possible efforts on environment improvement. Thus, TSMC proudly received the prestigious ISO 9002 certification in 1995 and ISO 14001 certification in 1997.
