Cong Ty Co Phan Thuy Dien Vinh Son-Song Hinh is a company located in Qui Nhon, Vietnam. It was established on September 15, 1991, as the Vinh Son Hydroelectric Plant under the management of Electricity Company III. The plant officially started production and connected to the national power grid on December 4, 1994. With a capacity of 66MW and an annual electricity output of 300 million KWh, Vinh Son Hydroelectric Plant is the first large-scale hydroelectric plant in the Central and Central Highlands region, contributing to meeting the electricity demand in the area and ensuring stable power quality for the national grid. In 1999, to improve the management efficiency of the power system and utilize the accumulated experience in operating the Vinh Son power plant, Vietnam Electricity assigned the Vinh Son Hydroelectric Plant to manage and operate the Song Hinh Hydroelectric Plant project. The Song Hinh plant consists of two units with a capacity of 70MW and an annual electricity output of 350 million KWh. Therefore, in July 2000, the Vinh Son Hydroelectric Plant was renamed Vinh Son-Song Hinh Hydroelectric Plant. In November 2003, according to the decision of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Industry, Vinh Son-Song Hinh Hydroelectric Plant was transformed into Vinh Son-Song Hinh Hydroelectric Joint Stock Company. This transformation marked an important milestone in the company's formation and development. To expand its production capacity, on September 27, 2009, the Thượng Kon Tum Hydroelectric Plant was started construction in Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province. The plant consists of two units with a capacity of 220MW and an annual electricity output of 814 million kWh. On April 1, 2021, the Thượng Kon Tum plant started commercial operation and connected to the national power grid. Currently, the plant operates as a branch of Vinh Son-Song Hinh Hydroelectric Joint Stock Company under the name Thuy Dien Thượng Kon Tum - CN VSH. Overall, Vinh Son-Song Hinh Hydroelectric Joint Stock Company owns three stable operating hydroelectric plants with a total capacity of 356MW, supplying approximately 1.8 billion kWh of electricity to the national grid annually.
