Crvenka Sugar Factory was built in 1912 by an English-Hungarian joint-stock company and after the Word War II it was nationalized.
In 2003, Greek Hellenic Sugar Industry acquired a 70% stake in Fabrika secera Crvenka for EUR 3 million. The foreign investor pledged to invest EUR 7.83 million over the next five years.
Currently, the factory has a daily processing capacity of 7,000 tonnes of sugar beet and daily production capacity 1,000 tonnes of sugar.
