Valjaonica Bakra Sevojno (Sevojno Copper Mills) was founded in 1955. With the annual capacity of 60.000 metric tonnes, it was the biggest producer of copper and copper alloys semi-finished products in Yugoslavia. It is ranked among few top-class highly reputable large factories in its field, both in Europe and throughout the world. Over 85% of its production is exported.
The company basic production program includes: flat rolled, copper and copper alloys tubes, copper and brass rods and bars, wire, copper and brass profiles etc.
In November 2003, a consortium comprising East Point Holdings, controlled by Serbian businessman Zoran Drakulic, and Amalco Limited acquired a 70% stake in the company. The new owner invested some EUR 21 million in the copper smelter over 2003–2008.
