CEE Renewable Energy Sector Report 2024-2025

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, bolstered by government policies aimed at diversifying energy sources and reducing the reliance on Russian energy. The European energy crisis, triggered by Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, accelerated efforts to deploy renewables in line with the EU's REPowerEU plan. This plan aims to end the bloc's dependence on Russian fossil fuels by 2027 and increase the share of renewables in final energy consumption to 45% by 2030.

This report provides a 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝘇𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰, 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘆.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 (CEE) remained resilient through 2023 and early 2024, overcoming new global and regional challenges. By mid-2024, it had not only regained pre-pandemic production and sales levels but also entered a phase of strategic transformation, particularly in electrification and digitalization.
