The Central bank of Uruguay was created by the 196 article of the Constitution of the Eastern Republic of the Uruguay of 1967. Among the tasks the Central Bank has are the exclusive emission and withdrawal of bills and coins, economic and financial advising to the Government, administration of international reserves of the State, to act like bank of the institutions of financial intermediation and to dictate to the norms on regulation and control of the financial system, on control of administrators of pernions saving fund, on control of the market of values and on insurances and reinsurances.
